Our Opportunities

Teacher

Hamilton Academy hires personnel for the following positions: Paraprofessionals, Teachers, Substitute Teachers and Social Workers.

  • Paraprofessionals must have at least 30 hours of college education, and pass the Paraprofessional Certification test at the Regional Office of Education.
  • Substitute Teachers should have an IL Type 39 Teaching Certificate.
  • Teachers also need to be LBS-I Certified for Social / Emotional Disorders.
  • Social Workers should be either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor.

Our Staff includes teachers who meet the ISBE requirments for special education teachers.  Certifications include LBSI. SOC/ED, LD.  We have paraprofessionals and therapists that are either LCPC's or LCSW's. 

Employment Requirements

Teacher

Applicants for positions at Hamilton Academy will need to meet the educational requirements and have the appropriate certifications for their position as stated above and as required by the Illinois State Board of Education. In addition, applicants must:

  • Complete and sign our Application for Employment form (found in the PDF PDF Application Packet)
  • Review and sign an Applicant Certification document (found in the PDF PDF Application Packet)
  • Review and sign the DCFS form "Acknowledgement of Mandated Reporter Status" (found in the PDF PDF Application Packet)
  • Provide proof of a current TB test
  • Consent to being fingerprinted
  • Consent to a criminal background check
  • Consent to an Illinois sex offender check
